My Kid Recorded A Podcast

Don’t tell her I’m doing this or she’ll absolutely kill me.  I swore I wouldn’t share this, but I can’t help it.

It’s natural for a child to want to learn more about their parent’s profession, right? My bashful 9 year old daughter, Leah, has always shown interest in what we do for a living and like most little girls, she wants to be like her mommy when she grows up.

As much as I’d like to see her set a higher bar for herself (“Wouldn’t you rather make money when you grow up, Sweetheart?”), I know the feeling, as I was raised by a man who worked in broadcasting as well.  As a youngster, my father would use my voice in commercials and record cassette tapes of me as “The Mighty Chris” doing “shows” as early as age 4.

We’ve had quite a bit of time off this holiday, so we took to our home studio (a must if you want to infect a child with the radio bug at a young age) and hit ‘record.’

This is her first episode of “Opposite of Adults” (we’ve been listening to a lot of Chiddy Bang in the car) where Leah ranks her favorite travel destinations.  My takeaway? We need to travel more as a family.  A challenge I am more than happy to accept.
